John Heck Immel married Ava Giddings. His obituary states: Word has been received of John Heck Immel, at Winter Haven, Fla. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Immel, whose parents were pioneers of this town. Mr. Immel was born in the house built by his grandfather in the 1830's that stood at the corner of North Grant and West Liberty sts. The house was torn down some years ago and is now occupied by the Standard Oil Company.
For many years Mr. Immel lived in New York City where he was an official in the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He retired 10 years ago, and had moved to Winter Haven. Mr Immel always retained a warm interst in Wooster, coming back every year and renewing old acquaintances.
Surviving are his wife, Ava Giddings Immel; two children, Mrs. George MacLellan, of New York and John Immel, Jr., of Detroit; two grandchildren, Jean and George McLellan, jr; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Flattery of Wooster, and Mrs. Myron Hill of Southern Pines, North Carolina. Another sister, Mrs. Ernest Amos of Sidney, Ohio preceded him in death.
Interment will be made in Wooster Cemetery in the family lot Monday morning, May 27 at 10:00 o'clock.
