"John Hyde (33), born at Norwich, Conn., 5 Dec., 1698, the eldest son of John Hyde (5) and Experience Abel (98) was a grandson of Samuel Hyde (2) the first, and Jane Lee, of Norwich. He m. 21 Sept., 1721, Sarah Haskins, daughter of John Haskins of Taunton, Mass. They settled at Norwich, where she d. 6 Sept., 1753. … After the death of his first wife, John Hyde (33) m. 7 Dec., 1755, Elizabeth Backus of Norwich, and died there 22 Oct., 1762. She survived him, and died 26 Nov., 1767."
