He served as Deputy to the Conn. General Assembly, May and Oct. 1700, Oct. 1704, May 1705, May 1706, Oct. 1707, May and Oct. 1714, May and Oct. 1715, May and Oct. 1716, May and Oct. 1717, Oct. 1718, Oct. 1720, Oct. 1721, May 1722, May and Oct. 1723, and May 1724 [Colonial Records of Connecticut, 4:318, 328, 482, 499, 532; 5:29, 424, 452, 490, 519, 546, 572; 6:2, 19, 68, 206, 270, 304, 367, 411, 4400. He was called Sergeant in most of the earlier entries. This service makes him a qualifying ancestor for the societies of Colonial Wars and Colonial Dames.
