The funeral of J. B. HIGGINS was conducted last Saturday at the Methodist church by Rev. E. C. Newham.

John B. HIGGINS was born in Missouri Jan. 13, 1866. He went to Texas when quite young and moved again to Washington in 1888. The latter journey was a notable one even for pioneers, taking six months by team. He married at Everett, Washington, to Miss Celia A. BOND.

Coming to Waterville twenty one years ago last July, our subject has been widely known and has made many friends to mourn his departure. He was 55 years old at the time of his death, caused by complications. Besides his widow, he leaves three sons, Walter age 21, Clarence age 15 and Olive, age 10.
