    Hi Marsha,
I went back to Stewart Herman's Daniels Line and on page 48 second paragraph, "John Harman married Esther Kendig, a direct descendant of Martin Kendig who, with Hans Herr, was one of the foremost leaders of the original Mennonite migration, whose tract bordered the Herman's and whose sturdy house of 1717 was built of walnut logs surmounted by a straw-thatched roof,---------". I goofed in the genealogy part. John Herman born 1743/49, died 1785, married Esther Kendig d/o Jacob Kendig. John Herman is the s/o Daniel Herman Jr. and Esther Lefevre. Mr Herman also talks about Daniel Herman and his land along the Pequea and also his neighbors, Peter Bellar, John Funk and Martin Kendig, Mennonites from Berne and Zurich respectively.

The Lefevre line is another early one among the Herman's and also the Carpenters. Esther Lefevre d/o Isaac Lefevre married Daniel Herman Jr. and Daniel's' sister Apalonia Herman married Gabriel Carpenter s/o Henry Carpenter. They had a son Daniel who married Mary Herr d/o Emanuel and Maudlin Herr.
