    As stated by John Hemphill, in his testamony, Cravens vs. Lanahan, - "Robert Cravens (the administrator of his brother John) started a few days after the sale say the 14th day of September, 1778, on what was called McIntosh's campaign. He does not know of his having anything to do with the Estate afterwards... he died in March 1784... but supposes the widow must have done the business.. Question - At what time did Robert Cravens the admr. return from the campaign called the McIntoshs. Ans. He returned a few days previous to the first of January 1779.
