He was sentenced to transportation in England in July 1755 and was transpo rted to Tuckahoe, VA, near the James River in America as a felon aboard t he ship "Tryal" in September 1755. He is listed in Coldham's "English Conv icts in Colonial America" Volume 1, page 71. He married Mary (unknown surn ame) after serving his sentence 1780 in Tuckahoe.
