    John Hawk was the son of Jacob Hawk. Jacob was born October 5, 1764 in Frederick County Virginia. He passed July 22, 1853 in Vinton County, Ohio. Jacob married January 1, 1796 [s/b 1786] in Hampshire County, (West) Virginia to a Sarah Baumgardner. Daughter of Rudolph Baumgardner from Germany and Agnes Hutsinpillar from Virginia. The parents of Agnes were Stephen Hutsinpillar of Palentine Germany and Elizabeth Brumbach from Muesen, Nassau-Siegen. The Brumbach line (with many different spellings) has been traced back to Der Sohn Brumbach in 1494.
