1839 - John and Lucy and most of their family came to South Australia in "Lady Lilford". It arrived at Port Misery, later Port Adelaide, on 27 September 1839.

1841 - The family was listed in the census living in Wright St, ADELAIDE.

1875 - John was the first person buried at the "new" Kangarilla-Clarendon cemetery after the original cemetery around the church in Clarendon was closed. His wife was later buried with him.
