    Excerpt: "John A. lost his life by a singular accident in July, 1876, at the age of 59. He was engaged in unloading hay with the usual machine now employed by farmers. By some means the heavy pulleys got loosened from their attachments, and falling upon him, crushed his head. One little incident connected with him I remember."
