John Gurney, on 29 Sep 1636, age 21, had three more years to serve [apparently as an apprentice].
[Cutter says he was born in England 29 Sep 1615 as a result of whatever document it was that gave this information. This seems a little aggressive in terms of precision, and the text of the document would have been helpful. Unfortuantely, Cutter makes no sign of being aware of any deposition. A date in 1615 would be incompatible with a child born 1628 as shown by ChamberlainS1, but then Chamberlain also says "This family is exceedingly obscure" and that John "probably was father to the following children" none of whom have recorded births. So it is hard to feel confident enough in Chamberlain to refute Cutter. Is it possible that there are two different people involved here?]
