GRUPPEN - John Gruppen, age 82, of Borculo went to be with his Lord on Monday, September 26, 2011.

He was a member of Borculo Christian Reformed Church where he served as both an elder and deacon,

he also served on the school board at Borculo Christian School. John retired from General Motors where he worked for 38 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angeline (nee Huizenga).

Children: Mary and Bob Van Huis of Hamilton, Jim and Pam Gruppen of Borculo, Gary and Vicky Gruppen of North Blendon, Pat and Bill Mc Murry of Zeeland and Steve Gruppen and Jennifer Gareen of West Olive; 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; brothers and sister, Howard and Gert Gruppen of Zeeland, Marilyn Dyke of Jenison and Glenn Gruppen of Tallmadge Twp.; In-laws, Gert Gruppen of Borculo, Shirley and Pete Rietman of North Blendon, Al and Geneva Huizenga of Borculo, Glenn Huizenga of Newaygo, and Joan and John Stremler of Holland. Special friend to the Gruppen family, Maria Mendez and her family. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Borculo Christian Reformed Church with the Reverend Alan Petroelje officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Yntema Funeral Home, 251 South State St., Zeeland. Burial will be in Borculo Cemetery.
