"Grumman, John, s. of John. … Inv. 20 May 1695; left a widow, four sons and a dau. On 13 Feb. 1701, John Gruman represented to the Court that his uncle Sergt. John Thompson together with Ezekiel Sanford were adm'rs of the Est. of his father John. Joseph, son of John, was of age to receive his portion, 30 Nov. 1709. On 23 May 1710, John Gruman (who had succeeded Thompson and Sanford as adm'r), made a division with the consent of Joseph Gruman, Ezekiel Sanford in behalf of Thomas Gruman, David Sherman in behalf of Samuel Gruman, 'my sister Abigail having received her portion.'"
