    "Grumman, John, s. of John. … Married (2) Esther, widow of Nathaniel Perry, and dau. of Richard Lyon. When common lands were set out to the heirs of Richard Lyon, Sr., 10 Mar. 1723/4, Esther's portion was set to her three Perry children and to Samuel Grumman 'a representative of his mother Esther.' This proves that Samuel was the only surviving child by Esther Lyon; as there is proof that the eldest son John was by the first wife, she must have been mother of the other children unless there was an intervening unknown wife between Esther Thompson and Esther Lyon. 'Hester Groment', aged 34, testified 1692 in the Disbrow witch trial; this was the second wife.
