"Griggs, … John, s. John, bp. Aug. 10, 1653."
"Griggs, … John, s. John, bp. 27: lm: 1659 [March 27, 1659]. (church record, First Religious Society, Unitarian.)"
[Note: the 1653 baptism is not marked with any church indicator and is NOT found in Source:Roxbury, Suffolk, Massachusetts, United States. Roxbury Land and Church Records, p. 120. The admission of the mother on 23 Jan 1658/59 is apparently what enabled the baptism in 1659, so it is not clear what the source of the 1653 date is, which would be prior to any church membership. The lack of church indicator may indicate it came out of town records and perhaps it is actually a birth record? Further, it may or may not be the same child that was baptized in 1659?]
