Obituary GIES - John A. Gies, aged 76, a former resident of Grand Rapids, passed away Wednesday afternoon at his home in Georgetown township. Surviving are the widow, Ann; one daughter, Mrs. Peter Hartesvelt of Grand Rapids; one son, Harold Laug of Coopersville, and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at Emanual Presbyterian church on Madison and Oakdale. Interment in Oak Hill cemetery. Mr. Gies reposes at the Hildreth Funeral Home and will lie in state at the church one hour previous to services.
