Date of birth is estimated. Obituary on 24 Mar 1851 in Savannah Morning News states that he was 58 years old at time of death. He came to Savannah at the age of about seven according to naturalization papers. He was from France and had to denounce the King of France and other soverns to be naturalized a citizen in 1832.
