  21. paralysis. Medical condition listed was high blood pressure. His death certificate shows he died at 10am from Uremia for five days, with contributory cerebral arterio sclerosis for 2 months. Informant on John's certificate was his wife. She did not know the name of John's mother. In his estate packet it lists his fees for care before death were $25 to the nurse and $55.75 to Dr. W.H. Robberman. His estate was worth $14,800. Broken down there was $3,500 real estate, a $10,000 government bond and a $200 certificate of deposit. Debts were $2056, which included above burial costs, etc. His widow had to pay $98 in estate taxes

  25. "JACOB J. GASTER DIES AT UPPER SANDUSKY -Father of John Gaster, of This City. - Jacob J. Gaster died at his home on west Wyandot avenue, Upper Sandusky, Thursday morning at 10 o'clock after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Gaster was born in Switzerland August 4, 1845 and came to America at the age of thirteen years with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gaster. The family located in Wyandot county on a farm west of Kirby. For the past four years Mr. Gaster resided in Upper Sandusky. April 1, 1881 he was married to Miss Mary Susan Heller, who survives with three children, Mrs D. F. Conover, of Cygnet; Mrs. Guy Sellers, of south of Kirby, and John Gaster, of Marion. He is also survived by five grandchildren, one brother, Robert Gaster, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Liles, both east of Kirby. The funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in charge of Rev. C. F. Betz. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery."
  26. "J. J. Gaster died at his home, on West Wyandot Ave., Thursday morning at 11 oclock. Death was due to high blood pressure, with which he had been ailing for some time. He was bedfast one week. John Jacob Gaster was the son of Henry and Anna Gaster, both now deceased, and was born in Switzerland, August 5, 1845, being aged 78years, 4months and 22 days at the time of death. On May 1, 1881, he was united in marriage to Mary Susan Heller, who survives. To this union were born three children, namely, Mrs Eva Conover, of Cignet; Mrs. Nellie Louise Zellers, of near Kirby, and John Henry Gaster, of Marion. Besides his wife and children Mr. Gaster leaves to mourn their loss one brother, Robert Gaster, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Liles, both of near Kirby, and five grandchildren. Mr Gaster was an adherent of the Lutheran faith. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2oclock at the home, conducted by Rev. C.F.Betz of St. Paul's Lutheran church. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery."
