Early Land Acquisition in Virginia

Acquisition of Land from Virginia Northern Neck Land Grants:

• I-81: John Garner of Fauquier County, 150 acres in said County. Surv. John Moffitt. Adj. Road from Falmouth to Great Run, Parrish Garner, Thomas Welch dec'd, Mr. Thomas Mitchell, Tinn Pott Run, Messrs. John & Thomas Garners Jr. 15 Mar. 1762.    The last wife [of Capt. Henry Hampton] was the widow of John Garner who died in Fauquier County, where an inventory of his estate was recorded March 23, 1764, and whom she had issue, sons Daniel and Francis Garner, and daughters, Mary married John Buckley, and Eleanor married Samuel Steele. She also surviving her second husband, but for how long, it is now known.
