   William Smith had a son named Samuel, who was born in Donegal. He married a daughter of William Spear, who was born at Big Chickles creek. William Spear also moved to Baltimore in 1752. He married Elizabeth Galbraith, daughter of John Galbraith, Indian Trader, and Dorcas, his wife. Samuel Smith, son of William Smith was a distinguished general in the Revolutionary War, and was a United States Senator from Maryland for fourteen years.
