    Married (1) _____ Sarah Pettit [born] 27th August 1666, Stanford, daughter of John and Sarah (called Debrow in Pettit genealogy) Pettit, granddaughter of Sarah (_____) Scofield Merwin, who called John Finch her grandson, and niece of Jonathan Pettit, he born February 23rd 1656, who married Elizabeth Finch sister of John. (Note 1)

    4 March 1683, Abraham Finch of Stamford, sold to John Finch of Stamford, witness Samuel Finch.

    Will of Isaac Finch, his father, sworn to at Stanford 23rd November 1702, States 'he had purchased for his eldest son John a 1/24 part of Bedford and settled him there for his portion.' He may not have gone to Bedford as he died soon after his father, however his sister Elizabeth who married Jonathan Pettit did go.

    Feb. 1, 1699/1700, John Finch jr., conveyed for fatherly affection to son-in-law Joseph Webb.

    Dec 26 1699, assignment of lots in Stamford included John Finch

    Jan. 1701, on list showing worth of inhabitants of Stamford.

    His will dated Mar. 16, 1702/3, prov Mar. 23, 1702/3 mentions; son-in-law Joseph Webb; brother Isaac; daughter-in-law Sarah Webb; sister Elizabeth Pettit; mother Ann Finch; and brother Benjamin to whom he gave all his rights in his fathers estate. Inventory by Joseph Webb, Isaac Finch, and Elias Hobby; states he died 17 Mar.; administration to Abraham Finch.

    No children.
