COPPY, P. MEMORAd-. 25; 6 Mo: 1680 entre: To all whome it may concerne, Know yee yt William Newman & myself were appointed administrators on ye Estate of Richard Schofeild deceased & by ye court impowered to pay all just debts & legacies according to court order, whereupon wee ye sayd administrators did grante Hana & Elisabeth Scofeild liberty to devide all ye lands granted ym by ye Court which was all ye upland mentioned in ye inventory of their fathers intituled twenty & six: of Mch. Shipban land is to be deducted it being sold to pay just debts, all wch above sayd land except what is excepted, wee ye said administrators doe hereby confirm & retify to ye sayd Hanah & Elisabeth their heirs, execrs & asigns forever giving hereby full & free liberty to record ye same to ym & theirs forever in ye towne records, as witnes our hands in Stamford, August 23: 1680.

In behalf of William Newman deceased I subscribe & of myself administrator. Thus signed: JONAT: SELLECK.

P. The lands granted as above by ye court & ye administrators to Elisabeth & Hana Scofeild to be divided between ym, ye sayd lands being divided by their husbands Joseph Webb & Jno. Smith & recorded respectively & particularly them in ye following page."[1]

    (m1) Married Sarah Pettit 27th August 1666, Stanford, daughter of John and Sarah (called Debrow in Pettit genealogy) Pettit, granddaughter of Sarah ( ) Scofield Merwin, who called John Finch her grandson, and niece of Jonathan Pettit, he born February 23rd 1656, who married Elizabeth Finch sister of John.

    (m2) Hannah Scofield Webb, Widow of Joseph Webb and mother of Joseph and Sarah Webb named in John Finch's WILL.

    4 March 1683, Abraham Finch of Stamford, sold to John Finch of Stamford, witness Samuel Finch.

    WILL of Isaac Finch, his father, sworn to at Stanford 23rd November 1702, States "..he had purchased for his eldest son John a 1/24 part of Bedford and settled him there for his portion." he may not have gone to Bedford as he died soon after his father, however his sister Elizabeth who married Jonathan Pettit did go.

    February 1st 1699 / 1700, John Finch jr., conveyed for fatherly affection to son-in-law Joseph Webb.

    December 26th 1699, assignment of lots in Stamford included, John Finch

    January 1701, on list showing worth of inhabitants of Stamford.

    His WILL dated March 16th 1702 / 3 route March 23rd 1702 / 3 mentions son-in-law Joseph Webb; brother Isaac; daughter-in-law Sarah Webb; sister Elizabeth Pettit mother and Finch and brother Benjamin to whom he gave all his rights in his father's estate inventory by Joseph Webb, Isaac Finch, Elias hobby states he died 7 March Administration to Abraham Finch.
