    In the name of god Amen the xxth day of August In the yere of our Lorde godd a mll vc xliiijth I John Ferne of Crekemersh of the parish of Uttoxeter in the Dioces of Coventre and Lychfelde at this tyme hole in boddy and of good and parfyt remembrance make my testament and last will for the disposicyon and orderyng of my Landes Fermes goods and Cattalles in manner and forme followyng, First I bequeath my soule to allmyghty godd and by body to be buryed in parish Church of Uttoxeter Also I bequeath for my mortuary after the Lawes and Statutes of this Realme Also I give and bequeath to William my eldest sonne forty poundes for his hole parte of allmy goodes and Cattalles Also I geve and bequeath to my sonne John one hundreth markes for his hole parte & porcyon of all my goodes and cattells And to Elizabeth my daughter one hundreth markes for her hole parte & porcyon of all my goodes and Cattalles. Also I geve to my said sonne John one yerely rent of xls over all charges duryng his naturall lyffe and to remayn to myn heir And the said John to enter and have the said rent Immediatly after the decease of Felix my wiffe, Also I will that Felix my wiffe shall have all my Leases and Fermes in Crockmersh and elles where duryng her naturall liffe and wydohoode And yf the said Felice do marry or Departe this worlde before that my Lease halbe determyned and ended then I will that Edwarde Ferne my sone Immediatly after her departyng from this worlde or after her mariage shall have to his owne use all such leases and Interest as then shall remayn in my said Farmes and takynges and in every parte and parcelle thereof in Crakemersh yf my executours and overseers at that tyme do parceyve the said Edward Ferne to be of good and sufficient discrecyon to occupy and Rule the said fermes, And yf my Executours and overseers do parceyve that the said Edwarde Ferne at the departyng or mariage of my said wiffe be not of good and sufficient discrecyon to occupy and Rule my said Farmes Then I will that my sone John Ferne shall have my Leases and Farmes and he to fynde the said Edwarde an honest lyvyng duryng his liffe at the dyscrecyon of my executor before said, Also I will that Edwarde Ferne and such parte and porcyon of my goodes and cattalles as belongeth to him shalbe at the governance and Rule of my said wiffe, And the Resydewe of my goodes no bequeathed I putto the governance of my said wyffe And I make and ordayn Felix my wiffe ./. William Ferne and John Ferne my sones shalbe myn executors Also I will that my sonne William when he shall com to the age of xviij yeres shall have all my takyng and Ferme in Ryddyng Parke / And yf the said William Ferne depart from this worlde before taht such lease and interest that I have in Ryddyng Parke be determined and ended then I will that the same takyng and Interest shall remayn to my sonne John Ferne / Also I ordayn Edward Braycost Esquier Robart Mylwarde and Henry Mywarde overseers that my last will be parformed/ This beying wytnes Robarte Mylward Rychard Smyth Thomas Smyth
