John Ferguson Will
I John Ferguson of the State of Tennessee and county of Washington being weak in body but perfectly sound in mind and memory calling to rememberance, mortality and that it is appointed unto men once to die and after death the judgement. I do appoint ordain and establish this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking and disannulling all former wills, testaments or bequeathments whatsoever. And first I do resign my body to the dust to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the descretion of my executors and my soul to God that gave it. Nothing doubting but that I shall receive the same again at the general resurrection. And as touching my worldly estate wherewith God in his providence has been pleased to bless me. I do appoint divide [devise] and dispose of in the manner and form following, that is to say.
I do in the first place will that all my just debts be fully discharged, and secondly I leave and bequeath to my beloved wife Jane Ferguson that part of the dwelling house that she shall chose to live in during her natural life and all the furniture that now in hers together with one cow and two sheep which ever shall choose and all my part of the grain and hay that is at present in the barns and the fields likewise ten of the apple trees such as she may choose or also ten pounds worth of other necessaries such as she shall stand in need of for a support of life yearly and as much flax broken as she shall stand in need of for her own use.
Thirdly I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Ferguson that part of the plantation that he now lives upon, forever and an equal part of the orchard and the benefit of the upper meadow for the term of five years and likewise all my wearing apparel, or clothes that I shall leave not otherwise disposed of.
Fourthly, I leave and bequeath to my son John Ferguson that part of the plantation that he now lives on provided he shall find his mother in all the above necessaries mentioned and fifthly I will and allow that out of the remaining part on my personal estate not heretofore disposed of that my daughter Betsy Hodge be allowed to the amount of forty dollars and then what remains of the said personal estate to be equally divided among the whole of my daughters.
And sixthly and la[s]tly I do hereby appoint and authorize my wife Jane Ferguson and my son Samuel E. Ferguson to be my sole and only executors of this my last will and testament and as above.
I do hereby revoke and disanull all former wills, testaments and bequeathes whatsoever and in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this twenty ninth day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and six.

The foregoing will was proven in court by the oathes of Joseph Duncan and George Bell two of the subscribing witnesses thereto at May Sessions 1807. and ordered to be recorded.
Samuel Ferguson qualified as executor of the foregoing Will.
