MYTH's BUSTED

Some trees show John Edwards 1784-1851 who died in Bond, Illinois as a son of Andrew Edwards 1753-1819 & Phebe Meador. He WAS NOT!

Life Skech

John Edwards 1784-1864, the son of Andrew Edwards & Phebe Meador migrated with his father to Laurens Co., SC and married Jane Bradley about 1812 in Laurens Co. SC. Their oldest son was named Jonas Meador Edwards. The middle name being in homage to his mothers maiden name. Under ‘Children’ on the WikiTree profile for Andrew Edwadrs 1753-1819 it lists: John Edwards, born 1788 and died 1864 in Laurens County, South Carolina. The settlement of his will is in box 150, package 9-1864. He married Jane Bradley in 1812 and then married Rebecca Gilbert circa 1837.
