Parentage
John Edmondson appears to be a son of Joseph Edmondson (1734-1778) and Martha Patty Stevens (1734-1803) of Virginia. John Edmondson married first, Sarah "Sally" Abel 22 July 1787 in Nelson County, Kentucky, and 2nd, Belinda "Derlinder" Norris on 5 April 1804 in Hardin County, Kentucky [which is adjacent to Nelson County]. Part of Nelson County became Washington County, Kentucky just a few years later in 1792. Several of Joseph Edmondson and Patty Stevens other children were married in Washington County, Kentucky between 1796-1799, and another sibling married in Nelson County Kentucky, making at least a circumstantial case for this John Edmondson to be a likely sibling. Additional research is needed to prove this suspected relationship.
