    CAPE SANDY---John Ralph East, son of Mr and Mrs John K East, died May 28 in the home of his parents near Pleasant Ridge Baptist church, after a period of illness. Death was due to heart trouble and complications. He was born September 3, 1910. When a boy of 12, he joined the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church. During his illness, he renewed his covenant with his Lord.

    He is survived by his wife, Pearl Compton East, who is in the Woodmere Hospital, Evansville; a son, John Raymond, and a daughter, Gloria June, who live with their grandparents, Mr and Mrs John K East; father and mother, two sisters, Mrs Bernice Lynch, who is Silvercrest hospital, New Albany, and Miss Hazel East, who is an attendant in the Cragment hospital, North Madison; four brothers, Omer East, of Carlisle; Cecil East, of Bessermer, Ala.; Chester East, who is now in the U.S Army in Iceland; Merrill East, at home, and other relatives and friends.

    Funeral services were conducted at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church, Sunday afternoon, May 31, at 2 p.m. by the pastor, the Rev. C. I. Dale, with Mrs Rose Esarey and Mrs. Edith Culver rendering special numbers. The music was furnished by Mrs, Dewey Sherrod and Mrs Paul Coleman. Burial was in the East cemetery.
