Son of Ezekiel East and Elizabeth Worsham. Pioneer of the Oregon Trail 1843. John obtained a donation land claim in Polk county and is enumerated in that county until his death in 1878; he and his wife are both buried on a knoll above their last home on Perrydale-Ballston Hwy. He married 26 Jun 1836 Bates County, Missouri to Elizabeth Kelsey.
