    Carla Ammeter's database at Worldconnect gives John Bertrand DYSART Sr., the son of James DYSART and Margaret STEWART as born 25 Dec. 1749 in Chester Co., PA and dying either the 20th or 10th of Sept 1842 in Bedford Co. TN.

    John DYSART fought in the Revolutionary War, serving under Captain Samuel WOODS. He was wounded early in the Battle of King's Mountain. He also served with Capt. William MOORE, General Griffith RUTHERFORD and Capt. Robert PATTON.

    John married 4 April 1773 to Mary Martha PATTON who was born about 1753 in Rowan, NC., daughter of Robert PATTON and Charity. Mary Martha died 1800 in KY.

    John married second Martha WOODS who was born the 30 of June 1770 in NC. Her father was Capt. Samuel WOODS.
