Watertown Daily Times, 26 July 1900: CHASED UNLICENSED BICYCLISTS... Special Officer W.H. Hilling of the Jefferson County sidepath commission returned this morning from Adams... On Thursday evening he arrested John Durgee of Adams near that village for riding on the sidepath without a tag. Durgee claimed that he had a tag and had lost it; but later Officer Hilling found that he had sold the tag to the father of Miss Minnie Dickerson, who was using it on her wheel. Hilling then re-arrested Durgee, and yesterday he was arraigned before Justice E.S. Hunt at Adams and fined $5.
