The author concludes that John Downing of Nevis who died 29 Apr 1694 was probably not the son of Emanuel and Lucy Downing. The son of Emanuel and Lucy Downing may have been the "planter" of Ipswich who married Mehitabel Brabrooke. While this identity was previously discounted by Jacobus the author through a series of three articles examines in detail John Downing including a discussion of John Downing of Nevis.
