At the time of his death, Mr. Delcher lived at 212 East Montgomery Street, Baltimore, Md. (the home of Emma Baer Late Thompson - Cousin Em). His funeral was held at the home of his son, Howard, 5222 Beaufort Avenue., Baltimore, Md.

John Summerfield Delcher made a wooden box for his daughter Sadie May. It was given to her just after she was married. Her father made so that she could keep photographs in it. The top of the box has the name May routed in it. Mary Peeples nee Lutz thinks that he used a hand router for the job as electric ones probably weren't invented yet.
