My John Johnson was born c1728 and married Elinor/Eleanor Davis, born c 1728 in Spotsylvania, VA, died 1789 - 1790 in Orange Co., VA, the daughter of John Davis b. 1685 in VA, who d. before 4 JUN 1734 in St. Mark's Parish, Spotsylvania, VA. and wife Elizabeth, married about 1707. Some show John Davis as the son of Joseph and Mary Davis. I don't know if that is correct or not. Since his father-in-law John Davis was in Spotsylvania County, it is very likely that John Johnson was there also, at least at one time. John Johnson and Elinor Davis had a daughter Elizabeth who married Frost And Snow (sometimes written Frostin Snow). It may be just coincidence, but there were several connections between the Snows and the Ballards, and there are Ballards among the descendants of William Johnston and Ann Chew shown in various gedcoms at Rootsweb.
