Record of John Craddock in Pittsylvania County, VA

- Robert Bumpus and Mary Cradock Bumpus, the widow of John Cradock, report that Cradock died in 1793, possessed of five slaves. They note that "the Estate of the said Testator was divided agreeable to his will and Each Legatee became seised & possessed of their respective share." They point out that Mary Cradock, a daughter and legatee of the said John, "Departed this life Intestate and under age" in 1796. The petitioners, along with Cradock's other legatees, "Conceive themselves by the laws of the Land intitled to the sd. Marys Estate." They "Pray that this Court may Cause a Division of the sd Mary's Estate."
