When his father died, he left six minor children, 3 boys and 3 girls. On January 24, 1812, John petitioned the court for guardianship of them. Source: Corll Cousins, Vol. 9 Issue 18. In 1850 and 1860 he was a farmer. In 1860 neighbors were Reuben Corll, Isaac Corll, David Corll and William Rupright. His tombstone indicates he settled in Austintown, Ohio in 1813. His son David was born in Mercer Co. Pennsylvania in 1814. His son, John Corll Jr., was born 1815 in Pennsylvania. In 1815 he sold property in Pennsylvania. His obituary states he came from Lynn Township, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania 46 yrs before (1816.) His obituary states he had 8 children, 6 of them alive. Mahoning History states he had 7 children, six of them living in 1882. We have identified the six alive in 1882. Obituary abstract Died at Austintown, Ohio June 8, 1862, age 75 years, two months and one day of kidney and dropsy disease.
