RAILWAY GUARD KILLED.

SYDNEY, Monday - John Conn, a railway guard employed by the East Greta Coal Company, was engaged in shunting operations at Stanford Merthyr on Saturday last, when he slipped, and a truck passed over and severed his right leg. He succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

KURRI KURRI, Monday.

John Conn, a railway guard, employed by tho East Greta Coal Company, was engaged shunting a coal train at Stanford-Merthyr on Saturday, when his foot slipped, and a truck passed over the right leg, severing it between the knee and the ankle. First aid was rendered by the driver, and Conn was conveyed to Kurri Hospital, where an operation was performed.

Later.

The railway guard, John William Conn, who was run over at Stanford-Merthyr on Saturday, died in Kurri Kurri Hospital yesterday. The Coroner, Mr. George Brown, held an inquiry, and found a verdict of accidental death.
