This entry is for John Conklin of Rye or Flushing. In a series of articles in The American Genealogist, Conklin Mann researched the three colonial Conklin immigrants. John Conklin of Rye is one of these three men and the one about whom the least is known. Conklin Mann hypothesized that the name of this man was John or Jan based on the naming patterns used my his supposed children. Y-DNA tests occurring ca. 2009 have verified that the sibling group discussed by Conklin Mann is apparently correct. In addition a will and probate information belonging to one of the sons, Edmund was discovered in 2013 which names the sibling group as well as the previously unverified parents and a previously unknown daughter, Sarah. It appears that John Conklin and his wife Elenor lived in one or more of the northern New England colonies.
