Sawyer County Record May 1, 1958 John Pete Cloud, age 72, lifelong resident of Reserve, passed away Wednesday, April 23, at the Hayward Area Memorial Hospital. He was born Aug. 15, 1885 at Reserve, and was the last of the hereditary chiefs of the Couderay Band.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, and four nieces, Mrs. Hilma Belille of Round Lake, Mrs. Josephine Belille of Hayward, Marie Morrow and Sarah Morrow of Reserve.

The body was removed from the Koerpel Funeral Home to the family residence at Chief Lake on Thursday, April 24. Tribal rites were conducted at the residence on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 with John Mustache officiating.

Interment followed in the Chief Lake cemetery.
