... John and Sallie (Strode) Clinkinbeard, his grandfather, William Clinkinbeard, emigrated from Maryland, and was one of the first settlers of Strode's Station in Clark County. He raised two sons and three daughters. The second son, John Clinkinbeard, was born about the year 1795, and was married in 1819 to Sallie, daughter of John Strode, whose father was the first settler of Strode's Station.
