    John Gipson Clements Claimed by Death.

    John Gipson Clements, 74, died at the home of a son, John Clements, at 8:20 o'clock Wednesday evening, October 17th, following an illness of five weeks.

    Mr. Clements was born in the state of Texas on May 14, 1854. He was converted at the age of 34 years at Junction City under Rev. Will Sims. Being a member of the M.E. Church, South for forty years he lived a consecrated christian life. He was a devoted husband and loving father. His wife preceded him in death on March 21, 1918. He came to Miles six months ago during which time he has been living with his sons, Tom and John Clements.

    Funeral services were held at the Miles cemetery Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. F. P. Bishop, pastor of the Methodist church.

    The deceased is survived by seven children, four sons, G. E. Clements of Blackwell, W. B. Clements of Dripping Spring, Texas, J. T. and J. G. Clements of Miles, and three daughters, Mrs. Sallie Andrews of R[torn]me, Texas, Mrs. M. C. Phillips of Blackwell and Mrs. A. A. Henning of of El Paso, Texas. Only Mrs. M. C. Phillips and J. T. and J. G. Clements were present at the funeral.

    He is also survived by 44 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
