    [Note: this source apparently has mistaken the death record of 10 Feb 1690 for John Clary Sen'r for this John, when it appears by his will to be the father. This John apparently died earlier as his children and wife are mentioned but not him. Since his father outlived him, this John never would have been referred to as John Clary Sen'r.]

    John Clary Jr., was son of John of Watertown and Hadley. He built the first grist-mill in N. 1685. He (with his dau. Sarah aged 15) was killed by the Indians at or near his mill, Aug. 16, 1688. His w. was dau. of the first Nathaniel Dickinson of Hadley and sister of Joseph of Northfield who was k. with Capt. Beers.
