John Braucht autobiography, pg 44-48 relates how this man told of his brother dying of exposure and his dad dying of pneumonia. The father and that family left Iowa because family did not appreciate his father's refusal to take sides with the civil war (must have been about mid-1860's and likely at (small town in) Warren County, Iowa when he took his family by covered wagon for "the west .. likely Labette Co., KS).
