John Martin Carbis, son of William Jnr., migrated with most of his family, to Pennsylvania in USA sometime in the 1870s as there is no record of them in 1881 census. (Grandson William John Crispin was with them as 3 y.o. grandson in 1871 census.) The exception was his daughter Eliza Jane, who refused to go. She was already married to William Henry Crispin, who had deserted the Royal Navy in Australia in 1870, And Eliza Jane and young William arrived in Melbourne, Australia on the Norfolk in 1872.
