Educated at Edenburg and ye benefit and honors of ye univrsity came to N. England AD 1717 & was ordained paftor of ye church in Oxford AD 1721 where with great wisdom + fidelity he continued to Execute ye several parts of his offices for more than 40 years in his last sickness he sustained ye prospect of his approaching death with great serenity as knowing him in whom he had belived (The sweet remembrance of ye juft shall flourish when they sleep in duft) 2 July 2001 From Robert J Feutz 4917225th Ave NE Redmond WA His wife is the great grandaughter 5x to John Campbell. Public and family records simply say he was born in the North of Scotland. Books written about Oxford Ma and the surrounding area cover him quite well and add the information that he was a 'kin' of John Campbell Fourth Earl of Loudoun ( Lord Loudoun was the leader of the British armies in the time of the French and Indian War) He could find lots on Lord Loudoun but could not connect him to John Campbell. It is said that John rejected ALL attempts to get him to talk about his Scottish history.
