He died in 1734 that is not possible. There is a generation gap here. I think John Campbell who married Mary Simpson is that gap. John who died in 1734 had a father Richard. John who was born in 1656 might of been too old to have children in the 1690s. Like our John b. 1697 who married Mary Simpson. Perhaps Our John b. 1697 had a father named Richard. Richard's father is the John who died in 1734 in Dauphin County, PA at the age of 78 (b. 1656).
