John is widowed in the 1900 census Beat 4, Sunflower Co., Mississippi with 6 of his children with him. The year and age given is obviously in error as it lists him born in 1869, age 30, widowed, with son, Frank age 23, born in 1876. The 1870 census gives us an estimated birth year of 1849 and shows him married Dec. 1869.
