A transcription of his will: I John Brees of Newtown in the county of Montgomery Tanner being of sound memory and understanding do make my last will and testament in manner following Imprimis I will that all my just debts and Funeral expences be discharg’d as soon after my decease as conveniently can be Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth the wife of Thomas Hall the sum of one shilling Item I give and bequeath unto my Son Theophilus Brees my house in Newtown in which I now live together with the garden Outhouses and all other appurtenances thereunto belonging Item I give and bequeath unto my Daughters Mary and Sarah Brees share and share alike all the remainder of the property moneys goods and chattels that I shall die possessed of, and my wish and desire is that my said Daughters Mary and Sarah Brees may continue in the Farm at Keven Aing Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my said Daughters Mary and Sarah Brees joint Executrixs of this my last will and testament whereunto I have set my hand and seal this fifth day of February in the year of our Lord 1774 John Brees Sign’d seal’d and deliver’d the day and year above written in the presence of us A Pooley(?)
