Margaret Bogle (25feb1715-4apr1794) married jun1737 John Murdoch (b. 4oct1709, chr 18oct1709, d. 30jun1776), who became provost of Glasgow ("Provosts of Glasgow from 1609 to 1832"). A portrait of Margaret Bogle or Murdoch, eldest daughter of John Bogle of Hamilton Farm and 2nd wife of John Murdoch of Rosebank was lent by Rev. Henry M. Hamilton to Old Glasgow Exhibition 1894 (Exhibition catalogue).
            F      Janet BOGLE was chr 1may1716 at Glasgow (R. Kelly). Janet married (1) 12mar1738 George LEITCH (they had a daughter Margaret (3jun1745-2aug1769, "Provosts") (R. Kelly). George Leitch was chr 27sep1711 (K. Smith). (George (d. 23nov1745 aged 34) was a Glasgow merchant, brother of Margaret Leitch, George Murdoch’s 1st wife, "Provosts") and (2) abt 1757 George MURDOCH (d. 19sep1795 Frisky Hall, Dunb., bur. Blackfriars Churchyard, "Provosts"). George Murdoch was chr 23jan1715 at Glasgow, d 19sep1795 Dunbartonshire, bur 25sep1795 Blackfriars church, Glasgow, son of James Murdoch (b. 1672) and Elizabeth Wingate (K. Smith). Isabella Dunlop, Edinburgh, lent  portraits of George Murdoch, provost of Glasgow 1754-5, son of James Murdoch, and the spouse of George, a daughter of Bogle of Hamilton Farm to Old Glasgow exhibition 1894 (catalogue). Janet Bogle was the 2nd wife of  George Murdoch.
           F       Martha BOGLE was chr 28may1719 and died 1768 (R. Kelly). Martha married 1741 Colin Dunlop (b. 1706).
           F       Mary BOGLE (12nov1727-26jul1808). Mary married John HAMILTON (1713-1780) 25feb1752 at Rutherglen (R. Kelly).

Martha Bogle was daughter of John Bogle and Janet Miller (daughter of Matthew Miller of Glenlee, Kirkcudbrightshire) (Provosts of Glasgow). Martha was, according to stirnet, based on "Old Country Houses of the old Glasgow Gentry", daughter of John Bogle of Hamilton Farm (ca.1679-1752) and ? Murdoch (daughter of George Murdoch, Provost of Glasgow) and granddaughter of John Bogle of Hamilton Farm and ? Millar (daughter of Matthew Millar of Glenlee); this seems doubtful.
