    John Birdseye died 4 April 1690 ae 74 Stratford, Conn. He married at Wethersfield, Conn. Phillipa Smith dau of Rev. Henry (Hist, of Stratford). He married/2 ca 1688 Alice (_____) Tomlinson who died 25 January 1698. She was widow of Henry Tomlinson. John Birdseye came from Reading, co. Berkshire, Eng. in 1636., first to Wethersfield and in 1639 to Milford where he and his wife joined the church 23 August 1640. He was a free planter and had lot # 16, which consisted of 3 acres 13 rods 20 poles, on the present River Street. They were dismissed to the Stratford church 29 March 1649.
