6th Great Grandfather (482) Mary Ann's father, John Bindon born c1730s was appointed 'custos organii' on 20th March 1762. He was the organ blower at the Cathedral - a very lowly position but one he probably held up towards the end of his life. He was married to Mary Hatchwell at the Cathedral, St Peter's, very shortly after the appointment, on 3rd April 1762. John Bindon died and was buried on the Cathedral Green on 10th April 1799. I have found it quite difficult trying to see what family John and Mary BINDON had. Besides Mary Ann who was born mid 176Os, there is a baptism record at the cathedral of her brother William on 26th September 1766. I also think there was a sibling John who is recorded as getting married at the cathedral in 1794 to Ann Langworthy. Source Anne SpeightJohn BINDON had a second wife. He married Elizabeth JENKINS at the cathedral on 21st November 1767. It might be that Mary Ann was infact a child of this second marriage. It's not at all clear.
